Every Side by Side Manufacturer Specifies A Different Weight
Before we dig into this exhausting list of side by side weights, dimensions and capacities it is important to note that every manufacturer discloses a different weight.
Most manufacturers will tell you the dry weight of the side by side while others will disclose the curb weight, wet weight or operating weight. With that said I just want to explain what each mean to you.
What Does Dry Weight Mean?
The dry weight is the most common weight that side by side manufacturers will disclose with the exception of a few. The dry weight is referring to the overall weight of the side by side without any fuel, fluids, passengers or cargo.
It’s important if you are looking for the overall weight of your machine to factor in the additional weight each of these will add. And trust me… it will add up quick!
Here is a quick chart of the average weights of fluids you’ll need in your machine:
Weight Of Gasoline Per Gallon | 6.3 lbs. |
Weight Of Motor Oil Per Gallon | 7.0 lbs. |
Weight Of 50/50 Mix Antifreeze Per Gallon | 9.4 lbs. |
The Weight Other Manufacturers Use
For those manufacturers that don’t disclose the dry weight they will use wet weight, curb weight or operating weight. Although all three are different they are actually essentially the same, they just use different terms.
Wet weight, curb weight and operating weight refer to the weight of the side by side with all standard equipment, a full tank of fuel and all other fluids full as well.

How Much Does An Arctic Cat Side by Side Weigh?
Arctic Cat (Textron Off Road) currently manufacturers 2 different line ups of their side by side. The sport model is called the Wildcat and the utility model is known as the Prowler.

As far as the Wildcat goes, for 2021 they only released one trim package called the Wildcat XX. This makes me wonder if they are phasing out of the sport side by side market, or maybe the side by side all together. Only time will tell I guess!
